Racing Pigeons vs. Release Duvs

Dove Release

How to Know the Difference

When choosing birds for a white dove release, consider the bird.  Release Duvs from the Ceremony Dove™ service not only look different, but they fly noticeably different.  While white racing pigeons dart away as if scared, the Release Duvs appear to enjoy flying.

Our Release Duvs are smaller and lighter than a racing pigeon.  As a result, it takes much less energy to lift them off the ground.  They simply look less frantic.  Our Release Duvs are the result of breeding several flying breeds.  Much of the bloodline comes from endurance flyers such as the Tippler.  Tipplers enjoy flying so much, they often fly for four hours or more without stopping.  Sometimes Tipplers are known to fly from sun-up to sun-down without ever taking a break.

Check the Bands

Those who fly white racing pigeons will typically use racing bands from one of the racing associations.  Such bands carry an AU or IF marking.

Our Release Duvs are not racers.  They do not serve double duty as both racers and ceremonial releases.  Their bands will not show the AU or IF marking.
